false sense of developement

It’s all about who you know not what you know!

Good people getting a kick and mediocre losers getting a push. All because, from weak CEO’s or other managers perspective, it’s easier and better to surround themselves with idiots, blind follower's with no spine or opinion. It’s easier this way, for some is still easier to manage bunch of sheep’s. Am disappointed to still find this tactics in some companies and I feel sorry for those sheep's, deluded and blinded by false sense of development. Because - their way is dead end road really! This is a shame and double loss!

Even those mediocre, some of them at least, if managed properly, if guided honestly and in different circumstances, could really shine and change the face of any industry. And they could do it much faster, taking it much further. Instead, young and inexperienced are being trained on how to play politics, how to be popular instead of being honest, how to play tricks instead of being good at whatever it is they are doing. Instead of being developed they're getting ballast of bad habits. And that's why probably every company still needs Complaints Department.

Somebody once said that the role of a manager is to make himself redundant. Well, in theory maybe but in real life many still fear for their security and future. That's why plenty will constantly look for ways to get rid of a qualified people, seeing them as competition and threat, instead of supporting and truly developing the gems.
