… that should be a norm…. undoubtedly US Supreme Court
decision from last Friday had been the biggest media sensation of last week….
everybody waited for it and talked about it once decision was announced… why
thou…
..two week earlier decision in exactly the same subject was
made in Ireland yet generated significantly less media and public
interest… and that’s not my only
objection here…
… and why are we getting excited about subject that should
not be a controversy at all; about something that should be a norm… why aren’t
we getting excited about the fact that America is still far behind any other
social country in the world … why it did not raise the eyebrows - the fact that
country calling itself (and aspiring to be) world leader has only 60% public
approval rate to gay marriages… why aren’t we upset by the fact that 40% of Americans
are still living in Dark Ages and probably wishes apartheid was still around… let's see how many gay couples actually will get married and who will be the brave one to do it first....
… it’s beyond me how our focus gets easily misplaced… media
and American President called Friday’s Supreme Court decision “a victory”…
really(?)… what did we win by admitting to the fact that we (as a whole)
still do not respect human rights and
need court orders to do so…
.. I don’t get excited about the facts.. I do get excited about
the meaning of the facts…….
.. and… although some media trying to tell you that Obama
had good week… what about the guns? .. world goes crazy about gay marriage
(don’t get me wrong, legalizing it is a good thing, should be done long time
ago) yet seems as if this noise was artificially created in order to cover up
other pressing issues and divert attention from equally important things…
shame…. instead, leading business media already started calculating why Friday’s
decision will be good – in dollars - and for whom (wedding planners are clear winners here…)
